Works well that far, but, after having recognized the new USB-Device, i have to install the driver via the .INF - … Webhi, i have just started to use the 18F4550 and the MCHPFSUSB firmware provided by Microchip. i am using ICD2 programmer and C18 compiler. i was able to program the bootloader code and my PC recognizes the device when i plug it in through the USB cable.
